6th May 2022, Weekly Update

We have the following activities taking place in the coming weeks.

  1. Jock Stein is preaching this Sunday.  He has written a memoir and has a few copies left for sale.  Cost is £10 with £5 donated to our mission fund.

“His memoir is commended by people as different as the novelist James Robertson and our own John Miller, who calls it ‘a study of faith, fate and destiny which will catch your attention from the beginning’. A more local writer Catherine Simpson refers to ‘a lifetime of stories in prose and poetry, punctuated by his wife Margaret’s beautiful line drawings’. Irene Howat, who has sold over a million of her own children’s books, says that Jock ‘guides us through the second half of the 20th century while his spiritual life opens like a flower’.”

 2)   Church Weekend

There will be a Church Weekend at Scoughall, 10-12 June 2022.  Part of our vision for St Andrew Blackadder is to be an intergenerational community.  This weekend, when we can relax as we do share food, walk, do various activities, talk and worship together will create the kind of environment that can help this happen.  You can join in with all of the events over the weekend or just some of them as suits you.

You can now sign up directly on the home page of our website (St Andrew Blackadder Church of Scotland – Home ) or by completing one of the leaflets that are available in both the church and in the Kaleidoscope.

Volunteers are needed – Sign up sheets are on the small notice board outside the office if you would like to be on one of the teams involved with catering (washing up, laying tables, pre- meal prep or provide tray bakes).
