  1. Litter Pick Sunday 5 June 2pm

One of the five marks of mission is caring for creation.  Participation in God’s mission prompts us to look outward. Rather than focusing on internal church matters we engage with the world around us.

Participating in a Beach Clean is one thing which ticks all these boxes.  Liz Martin and Alan Nisbet responded to my message in last week’s news and are organising a group to take part in the Big Beach Clean, https://caledonianhorticulture.co.uk/the-big-beach-clean/

If you are free, meet at the Rugby Club Car Park at 2 pm on Sunday 5 June.  Hooped bags and pickers will be provided. You are advised to wear gloves and stout shoes.

2)    Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Friday 3 June

North Berwick Community Council have organised events to mark the occasion. They will take place at the Harbour on Friday 3 June. There will be a Fete between 1.45 and 5 pm, the Royal Proclamation will be read at 2 pm, and there will be a Beacon lighting ceremony beginning at 9.30 pm. Further details on the noticeboard.

The Heart & Soul Swing Band will mark the Jubilee on Thursday 2nd June at 7.30pm in Longniddry Parish Church. All welcome and donations will go to the Church of Scotland HIV Programme.

3)    Church Quiz night Saturday 28 May, 7-9 pm, Church Hall

The YF have organised this to raise funds for Ukrainian refugees.  It will be a great night of games, quizzes, snacks and fun. Tickets are £5 each, and are on sale at the door.

4)    Church Weekend, 10-12 June, Scoughall.

Plan to come to some or all of the weekend. Please complete a booking form to assist the planning team. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdiEvupMwUipgoMNfa_DIfBn3PBT2VJs4HmqgN-m-1H3mn_Qw/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0  If transport is an issue or you need directions please let Julie in the office know.

5)    Sunday 12 June

Sunday June 12 falls on the Church Weekend.  There will only be one service in the church building at 9.30 am.  The 10.30 service will take place at Scoughall, except it will start at 10 am.  The programme for children and teenagers this day will happen at Scoughall and there will be no activities for them in the church building.  Even if you do not intend to come on the Friday or Saturday, why not come on the Sunday morning so you can have a taste of the experience. Scoughall is just past Tantallon Castle. It’s a place to get away that is right on the doorstep.

6)    Communion, Sunday 29 May

We celebrate communion as part of worship this Sunday. If you are worshipping online please prepare your own elements of bread and wine so you are ready for that part of the service.

7)    Prayer Gathering

Each Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
