Services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (also live-streamed). The passage is 1 Corinthians 15:12-28 (also John 20:18-31). In it Paul explains how the resurrection of Christ changes everything. The theme comes from a line in the Apostles Creed, ‘I believe in the resurrection. Of the body.’
Messy Church – 4- 6 pm
In the church hall: begins with create (various crafts); continues with celebrate (worship) and concludes with share (a shared meal of sausage, mashed potatoes and veg. All ages welcome and particularly suitable for families. Who could you invite to come with you to it?
2) Hungry for Good News
The gospel holders have been up around the church building for a few weeks now. A steady trickle of gospels are being taken away with new ones put in their place. I have no idea of who is taking them which is precisely the point. All sorts of people use the building. This week, for example, one day the hall was being used for Driving Theory Tests.
Please continue to pray that 2,024 gospels will be taken away during the year 2024, that these will be read, and that people will discover the life there is in Jesus.
3) Gilbert and Sullivan Evening
St Andrew Blackadder Guild is hosting an evening with the Edinburgh G & S Society in aid of Guild projects on Friday 12th April at 7.30pm in St Andrew Blackadder Church. Tickets costing £10 (children free) will be on sale from Guild committee (see Ann Braid) and from Greens and Blues or at the door on the night.
4) Presbytery Zoominar Tuesday April 30th at 7pm: Faith Sharing. Why does sharing faith often feel so difficult? Start to Stir is offering a session about sharing faith by offering a new perspective on evangelism that works with the people you already know and will see again tomorrow… and the day after that! Every Sunday in Prayer Room between 10 and 10.20 am
Every Monday in Room 1 between 10 and 11 am.
