- Sunday 6 October
Services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (also live-streamed). Ann Cubitt will be preaching. The passage is Matthew 6:5-15 & 9:35-38 and the theme Let Jesus Coach Us. It follows chapter 7 of the book Lighting the Beacons.
Messy Church. 4 pm -6 pm.
Messy Church is church that looks and feels different from Sunday morning church – great for those who love doing and being involved. It’s particularly suitable for families. It finishes with a meal, which means parents don’t need to organize that for their families at the end of the weekend. Do you know anyone who might find this a blessing? Why not tell them about it. Better still, offer to come with them so that it feels less like stepping into the unknown.
2) Hall Energy Project
As many of you will be aware, the Hall project got underway on 9 October with contractors beginning the ceiling insulation and preparing for the installation of the ventilation unit. The project working group and I would like to thank everyone for their understanding and co-operation in coping with the different arrangements while the Hall is unavailable including the stacking and re-setting of the sanctuary chairs which has enabled most of the user groups to continue their activities throughout the week. I am delighted to advise that Local Energy Scotland has formally offered a grant of £57,719 towards the costs of the energy-renewable elements of the project. This means that together with the Gift Day donation of £20,000 and the reserves allocated by the Kirk Session at its September meeting we can progress the completion of the whole project.
