2) Presbytery Conference – Friday 25 Oct in St Andrew Blackadder
Everyone is welcome. Please come along Presbytery Autumn Conference poster
3) Congregational WhatsApp Community
Recently created and maybe you are wondering, why should I join?
– If you are already part of one of the congregational WhatsApp groups, joining the community will mean you can see what other groups there are and then you can decide if you want to join them.
– If you’ve never joined one of the congregation’s WhatsApp groups, it’s a simple way to be kept informed about what’s going on. But don’t worry, existing ways of sharing information are continuing. So if you don’t want to join, that’s fine.
How do you join?
You have 3 options. All will work.
– Follow the link that has appeared in the existing WhatsApp groups.
– Send a WhatsApp message to Ken Reid on 07770 733471.
– Send a text message to Ken on the same number.
Once you have joined the community, you will see different groups listed. These include:
– Announcements – this is for use of administrators to send messages to the whole community. You are automatically enrolled in this group.
– General – this replaces the previous St Andrew Blackadder stand alone group. It will contain lots of general announcements, so is a good one to join.
– Others these may reflect groups that previously existed in WhatsApp or would be useful as WhatsApp groups for the community. Current examples include Songs and Sustainability. They may be suitable for groups within the church, for example, the Christian Book Group has a group already. Other groups, eg home groups, welcome teams, junior church can easily create their own group in the future. Administrators need to approve new groups, but after that they are open to all to join and use.
To join an existing group, tap on the group to open its page, which displays a little bit of helpful information and a button inviting you to join the group. Tap on the button and you are in.
Any questions? Contact Ken Reid on 07770 733471
