Weekly Update, 10th January 2025

1. Sunday 12 January

Services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (also live-streamed).  The passage is Mark 1:21-45, the theme Every time you say ‘Yes’ you are also saying ’No’.

2)   Ian Bird

Ian died on December 28th. He was a gracious, caring man and a committed servant of Jesus Christ.  He loved worshipping with God’s people and was in church most Sunday’s right up to the end. His funeral will be in St Andrew Blackadder on Friday 31 January at 1.30 pm.

3)   Meeting about a Banking Hub 13/1/25

Come and meet a representative from Cash Access UK about the proposed banking hub in the town at a public meeting in the Sanctuary on Monday 13^th January at 7.30 pm organised by North Berwick Community Council.

4)   No more Pringles Cans needed

Thank you to everyone who contributed Pringles Cans. No more are needed. So I’m afraid, you can’t use Messy Church as an excuse to buy another one!

5)   Malawi Coffee Morning 25/1/25

The 22nd annual Coffee Morning is on Saturday, 25 January, 10.00am – 12.00 noon in St Andrew Blackadder church.  There will be no entry charge with the morning open to all and any donations welcomed. Coffees, teas and bakery will be served. Stalls include home baking and a new, and good as new, gift stall. All contributions and offers of help on the day, gratefully received. 6)   Christmas Offering

This year’s Christmas Offering raised £506 to support Bethany’s Welcome Centre.  In addition, £1581 was donated through the year (box at High Street door). So a total of £2087 was sent. Thank you for giving.

7)   Joint Service, 19/1/25 6 pm.

Every year local churches have a joint service to mark the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. This year it is being held in Gullane Parish Church, next Sunday at 6 pm.  All welcome.
