Messy Church
We've nearly completed our second year of Messy Church; in November 2011 we saw the largest number of people come and take part – about 130 people!
For those of you who are wondering what it’s all about, here’s what we got up to. As our theme for a recent session was “Love your world”, the first challenge for families was to try to identify plants/animals etc from microscopic pictures. Our crafts/activities this month were: planting seeds, making bird tables, tissue paper globes, mini fish tanks, dragon flies from old socks, autumn table mats, paper flowers, water filters, pinecone hedgehogs and bird cakes.
After an hour of crafts we moved up into the Church where the YF spoke to us some more about the importance of loving God’s world, and lead us in some prayers and singing. Then it was time to return to the hall, by now set out for tea, where we all dined well on spaghetti and meatballs, followed by cakes.
Messy Church is a very quick 2 hours of great fun, and if it sounds like something you’d enjoy with your family, come along to our last meeting this season, Sunday 20th May from four to six pm. Alternatively, if it sounds likesomething you think you could help with, please call.
We will be back in the Autumn!
