The Congregational Board

In the Church of Scotland what are referred to as the “temporal affairs” of a congregation (in other words principally matters relating to finance and property) are the responsibility of the Congregational Board.

Members of the Congregational Board include the Minister and Associate Minister, selected elders and elected members. Board members, along with the designated “active” elders who form the Kirk Session, are deemed to be the “Trustees” of the congregation in order to conform to the requirements of Charity Law.
