Sunday Worship

We meet for worship four times in a typical week, although it's a rare St Andrew Blackadder member who will be at all four services! Each service is geared to meeting particular needs and most folk settle on the one or two that suit them best. We look forward to welcoming you soon to any of our services.

Our services each Sunday are:

09:30 am Morning Worship

The Morning Service is a traditional and reflective service. It was created to meet the needs of those who find the bustle and background noise of all-age worship a trial rather than a delight. Tea and coffee is available after the service.

10:30 am Worship for all Ages

This is what most people would regard as our main service including Christian teaching for both adults and children. Everyone meets together to start with and then the children go off to their KLASH meeting. There is a creche available from 10:30 am for babies and toddlers, but everyone is welcome to stay throughout the service. Multimedia presentations are often used at this service to support reflection and prayer, together with a mix of contemporary songs and well loved hymns. After the service worshippers are encouraged to chat over a drink of tea or coffee and a biscuit, and juice is available for the children.

Communion is celebrated quarterly at the 10:30 service.

6:00 pm Evening Worship

Variety, Reflection, Informality. If you are looking for a more informal service, our Evening Service could be just the thing. Once a month (usually the first Sunday), Communion is celebrated in a quiet, contemplative manner. A variety of other formats are used on the other Sundays in the month; some are contemporary, some traditional, and a cafe format is popular. In the summer we join with the Abbey Church for a joint evening service. Children are very welcome, but no special facilities are provided at evening services.
