We run an exciting varied programme of activities and events for younger members of the congregation.
Services at 10:30 are provided for young people and their families .
Please contact the Church Office or one of the leaders listed below to see how you can take part
For more information on all of these programmes, please contact the Church Office.
JUNIOR CHURCH
for pre-school and primary school children
Each Sunday the children join the first part of the 10:30 service with their parents. After the Children’s Talk, the leaders and children go downstairs to the Chapel for Junior Church.
Parents pick their children up from the Chapel after the service.
We sometimes break into two groups: Pre-school to Primary 4 and Primary 5 to 7. Either way, the children are taught who God is and the love of Jesus through Bible stories, music, games, and crafts. We offer them a snack and a drink and are happy to meet any dietary needs.
Every Christmas Junior Church leads a Sunday service and presents a Nativity play. The Saturday before our nativity we have a dress rehearsal and Christmas party. In August we have a family picnic.
All leaders are PVG’d by the Church of Scotland.
“Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.
I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendour and your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness. Everyone will share the story of your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about your righteousness.”
(Psalm 145:4-7)

CRÈCHE
St. Andrew Blackadder is fortunate to have a very well equipped creche complete with baby changing facilities.
We welcome babies and small children up to the age of three. Parents are also welcome to join in the fun.
The creche is available for the duration of the 10.30am Family Service each Sunday.
YOUTH FELLOWSHIP
Youth Fellowship gives young people the chance to get to know God in a relevant, contemporary way. A variety of media is used and all are encouraged to participate in group discussions.
Members from Youth Fellowship lead worship on a Sunday occasionally throughout the year. This has proved to be a very rewarding experience for all.
The schedule for YF is quite varied with a group meeting the same time as Junior Church on Sunday mornings and two different types of monthly get togethers
Once a year, there is an opportunity for our members to strengthen their Christian faith by joining their peers for a three-day long residential camp.
MESSY CHURCH
Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality. It is primarily aimed at families who don’t tend to be part of other forms of church, and it takes place once a month on a Sunday between 4pm and 6pm. You can find out more about it here.
