November 22, Prayer Diary

1          Pray about the moral, social and religious issues which are discussed and decided by our parliaments in Westminster and Holyrood.

            2          Remember Mike – his family, his health and his work as he deals with many of the practical aspects of the day to day functioning of our church.

3          Pray for the churches is Sikkim which are twinned with us, remembering the pastors and members who worship there.

4          Remember all that will take part in the church cleaning on Saturday. Pray that the day will  be a great success as they work on the fabric of the building.

5          Pray for those you know who will be frightened or upset by the noise of fireworks tonight.

6          Pray for members of the Guild who are participating in the services this morning.  Remember too our friends in St Baldred’s Church.

7          Join in the Scripture Union global Week of Prayer remembering the staff who work in the schools in our own area.

8          Pray for the members of the Kirk Session as they meet this evening to discuss important   matters relating to the future life of the church.

9          Continue to pray for Annika, Hamish and their family in Sweden. Pray particularly that Hamish will cope well when Annika has to travel to meet the needs of her Wycliffe work.

10        Pray for all who will be involved this evening in the meeting of the North Berwick and District Association of Churches.

11        Continue to pray for  wisdom for the members of parliament in Holyrood and Westminster and for guidance as they make important decisions.

12        Pray for those who are finding it difficult to get suitable appointments with doctors and other health service staff.

            13        Pray for all who will be finding a personal and appropriate way to remember the historical events associated with the events of today.

14        Remember Neil, Helen and their family, both in North Berwick and elsewhere.

15        Pray for those you know who are living or working in dangerous or sensitive areas of the world.

16        Remember families in our community who are having to deal with personal problems and who cannot, or will not, seek the help they need.

17        Give thanks for some of the positive things which you are experiencing at the moment.

18        Pray for members of our fellowship who are now unable to get out and feel isolated and ignored.

19        Pray for friends and neighbours who are finding it financially very difficult at the moment.

20        Remember Donna Kellock as she leads our worship this morning. Pray for the members of the Presbytery of Lothian as they meet on Thursday.

            Pray for personal, local national and international situations which you recall as you meditate on the following lines from a well known hymn.

             21        Thank You for every new good morning

22        Thank You that I can cast my burdens wholly on to You

23        Thank You for leisure and employment

            24        Thank You for all that makes me happy and for melody

25        Thank You for every friend I have Lord

26        Thank You for Your unfailing love which reaches far and near

27        Pray  for Neil and all who be worshipping with us this morning as we celebrate communion on Advent Sunday.

28        Pray for the members of our fellowship who are often unknown and who perform tasks which are important but sometimes unrecognised.

29        Ask God to guide you today so that you can meet someone needing help and encouragement.

            30        Continue to pray for Barbara and the members of the team who serve each month so that the church can be open to welcome visitors each day.
