- Sunday 2 April
It is Palm Sunday. Morning services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am also live-streamed. The passage is Matthew 21:1-11 and the theme, Unashamed.
Messy Church runs from 4pm to 6 pm. Messy Church is a different way of being church. It is for all ages and families with younger children find it a particularly accessible pattern. Going to anything for the first time is always a little daunting. If someone you know says, ‘Would you like to come with me?’ that feels a lot less scary. Is there someone you know who might be glad to come with you to Messy Church?
2) Saturday 1 April: Guild Coffee Morning 10 am to 12 noon, Church Hall.

4) Living Sustainably
A really useful meeting was held after the morning service last Sunday. There was an opportunity to sign up to be involved in one (or more) of the six areas: prayer, changes to the church building, changes to church practices, our own lives, connecting with others, and support for the world’s poorest. If you would like to add your name to any of these six areas, please contact Robert Galbraith via the Church Office.
A WhatsApp group has now been created to share ideas, information and questions about living sustainably. If you would like to join the group, please contact the office for details.
5) Family Worker Vacancy
The congregation is recruiting a part time Family Worker.
Given the geography of North Berwick and the skills required there is likely to be a small pool of people for this post. Can I ask you to do two things.
Pray. Please pray that God will prompt the right person to apply.
Share. Please spread the word. A simple way to do this is to copy and paste the following paragraph and email it to friends or contacts who either might be interested or know someone who could be.
There is an exciting opportunity to develop St Andrew Blackadder’s ministry to families of younger children in North Berwick. Do you sense a call from God to help integrate families into the life of the congregation? Do you have a passion to help people explore how Jesus can help with the challenges of family life? Would you like to work with a team of dedicated volunteers and develop new initiatives?
This is a paid, part-time position and term time working is possible. To find out more look at the job description https://www.standrewblackadder.org.uk/vacancy/ or contact the church office (01620 895233, admin@standrewblackadder.org.uk ) to arrange a chat.
6) Worship Leader Course
The next Presbytery course designed to prepare people to lead worship in church begins shortly. It will run on Wednesday evenings on Zoom at 7.30 pm between 26 April and 31 May. This in an introductory course which might help people who wanted to take a Beacon Service of were already doing that, and realised a bit of background might help them do it better. Ann and Donna who are now leading Sunday services began with this course. They enjoyed it so much that they chose to do the next modules in the series. It was this that gave them the skills and confidence needed to lead Sunday worship.
If you are interested in taking part please let me know by Tuesday 12 April.
7) Prayer Gathering
Each Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
