Prayer Diary June 2023

1        Pray for all who will attend the Holiday Team meeting which will be  held in Abbey Church today.

2      Pray too for the young people who will be sleeping overnight at Scoughall.

3      Remember all those who are helping to arrange or are speaking at the Church Weekend.  Pray that all who attend will have a great time and for those who will attend Messy Church at Scoughall.

4      Pray for friends and neighbours who seem to moan and  complain about relatively insignificant matters when we think about what people in countries like Ukraine and Sudan have to contend with.

5      Remember someone you know who has recently lost a loved one and has had to make significant changes to the routines in their life.

6      Give thanks for the little acts of kindness or generosity which a friend or neighbour showed you recently and pray for them as they seek to be a help and encouragement to others they will meet.

7      Please continue to pray about Hamish’s health and for the plans the family are making for a visit to Scotland over the summer.

 8      Pray for all who will be leading and attending the Communion Service at the Beacon today.

9       Remember all the students who will be completing their degrees at the present time and planning the next step in their career.

10       Pray for the small team of volunteers who each week arrange the  flower displays which help make the church an attractive place toworship.

11       Remember Neil as he continues to help us look at aspects of 1 Peter. Pray for all who will attend the services and in particular for the visitors who come to worship with us.

 12     Pray for Geraldine, Vicky and others who help with Little Angels each week. Remember all who come along. Particularly those who do not attend the services each Sunday.

13      Pray for the members of the Kirk Session as they meet this  evening.

14      Pray for the members of the Lothian and Borders Presbytery as they meet on Saturday.

 Pray for people and situations which come to mind as you contemplate lines from the well know hymn “Beauty for Brokenness”

15      hope for despair

16      bread for the children

17      justice, joy, peace

18     shelter for fragile lives

19      cures for their ills

20      rights for the weak

21      Remember Douglas and his family as he continues to minister to the congregations in East Linton, Stenton and Athelstaneford.

22      Pray for those you know who are waiting to go into hospital and are very apprehensive about what the outcome may hold.

23     Pray for someone you know who has been upset by the actions of another person in the congregation.

24      Remember the work of Scripture Union and for all who with gather this morning in St Andrew Blackadder Church to pray for those who are preparing to run SU holidays  over the summer.

25      Today is our Gift Day. Ask God for wisdom and guidance as you consider what your contribution should be.

Yesterday was Gift Day. Use the leaflet which gives more information about the topics which our giving will help and then each day pray about one of them during the week.
