Services at 9.30 and 10.30 am (also live-streamed). The passage is Matthew Exodus 1:6-22 and the theme, the story of Freedom. Mary Haddow will be leading us in worship.
2) Alpha.
Inviting Our Community to Alpha. Let’s extend an invitation to our community to join us for the Alpha Course! This is a great opportunity for our community to explore faith, build connections, and experience connections. Starting on Thursday 23rd October 2025 at 19:00. The course runs weekly on Thursday evenings, with a short break for Christmas, and finishes in January 2026 sign up on the church website.
Prayer Chain for Alpha Course- As our church hosts the Alpha Course, let’s unite in prayer for all participants, facilitators, and leaders. We invite you to join a prayer chain from your homes during the course sessions.
Pray for:
Open hearts and minds for all participants
Guidance for facilitators and leaders
Meaningful conversations and connections
How to participate:
- Set aside a few minutes each evening the course is held.
- Pray specifically for the Alpha Course and its participants.
- Share prayer requests or praises with our church community.

3) The Bible Course
The last few copies of this autumn’s book, The Bible Course are still available from the church office for £8.
4) Church Directory
If you would like to be added to the new edition of the Church Directory or have your details updated then please return your form to the office no later than 30th September.
5) Blytheswood Shoeboxes. Shoeboxes covered in Christmas paper are now ready for collection at both front and back doors of the church. Please could you take one and fill it with the small gifts suggested on the leaflet inside the box. Boxes can be returned to the church mid-October ready for collection. Thank you!
6) Harvest Sunday – The East Lothian Food Bank has been in touch to express their gratitude for your generous donations last weekend. You donated 153.6kg of food, which equates to 366 meals for those people in most need in the county. Tearfund envelopes are available in both entries of the church if you are still to donate.
7) The Guild – The first meeting is on Tuesday 30th September at 2pm in the Chapel. The speaker will be Mary Haddow on the Guild’s theme for this year, “Living Stones”. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be provided.
8) Prayer Gatherings
Every Sunday in Prayer Room between 10 and 10.20 am
Every Monday in Room 1 between 10 and 11 am.
Every Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
