Weekly Update, 28th November 2025

  1. Sunday 30 November

Services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (also live-streamed).  Communion will be celebrated at both services. If you are worshipping online please prepare your bread and wine in advance so you can participate.

Advent begins and the theme is Who is in control? The passage is Luke 1:5-25.

Christmas Choir. Rehearsals continue at 11.50 am.

Messy Church, 4 – 6 pm. This is a week earlier than usual. The theme is Advent. It’s a great way for families to begin thinking about the coming of Jesus.

2)  Day of Prayer, Saturday 29 November

The Church of Scotland invites everyone to pray for the nation this coming Saturday. Here are three ways you can do this:

  1. Come to the church building between 1 and 2 pm to join others in the downstairs chapel. The hour will begin and end with a few songs. In between you can either pray on your own or with others.

  4. North Berwick Christmas Parade, Saturday 29 November

This starts at Quality Street at 5.30 pm, will include a walking Nativity by young people from Church and music from the church steps.
Lights switch on is at 6pm.

If your child would like to take part in the walking Nativity, they should come warmly dressed as a character from the Christmas Nativity and meet outside No 12 Restaurant on Quality Street at 5.15 pm

3)   Saturday 20 Dec 2 pm: Christmas Story on the High St

Please mark your calendar. The Bible’s account of Christmas will be read from the steps of the church. Bible readings will be interspersed with carols. Please come and add your voice.

4)   Gather Worship, Friday 6 Dec, 7 pm

Led by Neil and Jo Thomson from North Berwick Christian Fellowship in North Berwick High School, finishing at 8.30 pm.

5)   Prayer Gatherings

Every Sunday in Prayer Room between 10 and 10.20 am

Every Monday in Room 1 between 10 and 11 am.

Every Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.

6)   A Ukrainian family renting on the High Street has asked if anyone in our church would be willing to host their parents when they come to visit over Christmas, from 17-31 December. If you are interested in finding out more, and can help even for a few days, please contact the office for more info
