  1. Sunday 27 November

This is Advent Sunday. During services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am Communion will be celebrated. The 10.30 service will also be LiveStreamed. The theme will be God is now here and Daniel 5 will be our passage.

After the services, Peter Kimber who has often preached in StAB, will be selling copies of his recently published memoir, Taking the Long Way Home. Copies are priced £7 and all profit will go to support the work of Scripture Union.

2)   Kaleidoscope

The Christmas Edition of Kaleidoscope has been published and will be available at church on Sunday. Please pick up your copy. Could deliverers collect their packs too.

Kaleidoscope is the church magazine which is now published quarterly.  A big thank you to Kirstin Entwistle who has agreed to take on the role of editor, and to Derek Brown who has retired from that role after many, many years. Thank you, Derek, for the time, attention and faith you have invested in helping everyone in and around the congregation stay informed.

3)   Christmas Cards for Overseas friends.

Christmas cards for oversees friends – Martin Memorial Church Gangtok, Hamish & Annika Ralston & Caroline White will be in the church this Sunday for people to sign.

4)   Staying Warm This Winter

There will be a FREE online webinar with Home Energy Scotland, who will offer advice about ways to stay warm this winter.  It will run on Tuesday 29 Nov, 7.00-8.30 pm.  To participate you need to register Here.

5)   Gift Day 2023

Gift Day has closed for this year. Thank you for your fantastic response. You have been very, very generous. The total, including tax recovered, is £42,197.50.  It will be allocated as follows:

EL Foodbank                                 £8,035.50

Orphan Village, Malawi                 £6,256.00

Belly Bin, NB                                 £6,638.00

Scoughall, SU                               £13,573.00

Ife Bible Translation                      £7,695.00

6)   Harvest

Food was collected at the harvest service for East Lothian Foodbank. Donations were also invited to support the work of Tearfund.  Many of you chose to give directly to Tearfund online, while others put money in envelopes, which totalled £290.  Tearfund have sent a letter of appreciation which is on the noticeboard outside the church office.

7)   Prayer gathering

Each Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
