Messy Church: Sunday 5 February 4pm
Messy Church is back this Sunday 3rd Feb after an extended Christmas and New Year break. It’s for all the family and is a great way of encouraging adults to attend church in a more low key way. Please think about those you could invite (friends, neighbours, family) and perhaps come along to support them. 2) Church Weekend 3-4 June 2023 Scoughall
Last June there was a very successful Church Weekend at Scoughall (SU site). This year the weekend will be from lunchtime on Saturday 3 June until early afternoon on Sunday 4 June. It will be at Scoughall again, with people returning to sleep in their own beds on Saturday night. The organising team reviewed what worked well last year and concluded that a shorter programme would work better.
There will be a slightly different programme for teenagers. It will begin on Friday 2 June. They will also have the opportunity to sleep over at Scoughall.
More details will be given during Sunday’s services.
4) Hunger Lunch, Sunday 12 Feb, 12 noon.
Hunger Lunch returns next Sunday. Hunger lunch is a simple lunch of homemade soup and rolls. It is held in the Church Hall normally on the 2nd Sunday of the month after the 10.30 am service. People are invited to contribute the cost of a normal lunch. Funds raised this year will be sent to support the Orphans’ Project in Malawi.
Hunger Lunch is also great way to meet people and get to know them better. Why not plan to come along so that you can both contribute to a worthwhile cause and deepen your connection to others in the church?
5) Monthly Prayer Diary
The January edition did not appear because Ian Gordon who compiles it had been unwell. A briefer version has been prepared to cover February. Paper copies are available in the church building or by email from Julie. Ian is getting better and plans on preparing the March edition.
6) Prayer Gathering
Each Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
