The location for the w/e is the Scoughall Scripture Union site just 4 miles from North Berwick. It is right on the coast. Please book a place using the online booking form on St Andrew Blackadder website. Do please come if you possibly can. 3) Summer Holiday Club: 24-28 July 2023 The Great Glen Green Welly Garden show is coming to North Berwick between 24 and 28 July. This brand new Holiday Club will give children a sense of the big story of the Bible. It begins with the perfect world God made, tells how humans spoilt it, and shows how Jesus is the only one who can bring hope and restoration.
There will be morning activities for P1-P 5 children, from Monday to Friday between 10 am and noon,.
There will be afternoon activities for P5-P7 children between 2 and 4 pm.
There will be evening activities for P7-S6 between 7 and 9 pm.
This is a great way to help children and young people understand what the Bible teaches and how it relates to their lives today. It is being run by the different churches in North Berwick under the SU banner. Might you be able to invest some of your faith, time and energy to help the children and young people of our town discover who Jesus is and the difference he can make to their lives?
To sign up, or to find out more, talk to Lesli Lawrie (details in the Church Directory) or leave a message with the church office.
4) Spring Harvest A group from the congregation have recently returned from a fabulous time at Spring Harvest, a Christian festival that is held every year at Easter time. Plans are being made to go again in 2024 to Skegness between 1-5 April. Would you like to go? Or find out more? The first cut-off date is 27 May when deposits are needed. The second cut off is 31 July when Early Bird Discounts end. You can apply right up till next Easter but demand is often high and when it’s booked up, that’s it.
Each year some people request a Barbara Bursary to help and that option is there for anyone who is part of the congregation of StAB. It can cover 50% of the cost for adults and 75% for children and anyone else who does not have a normal income. Applications are available from the office.
The contact person this year is Ali Buchanan – her details are in the church directory and she would love to chat to you.
5) Forest Church Zoominar
As StAB has explored how to Grow Young, one idea the congregation came up with is to take worship outside the building. In times past Open Air services chimed with some people. Today one of the ways that is resonating is Forest Church. At the moment a small group are working out how this might be done in North Berwick. Meanwhile others, in other places, have started which means we can learn from their experience.
The Presbytery has arranged a Zoominar on Thursday 11 May at 7.30 pm on Forest Church. It will be hosted by Aniko Schutz Bradwell. Anyone is welcome to participate. To do so click on this link: https://zoom.us/j/94562855620?
6) Prayer Diary The prayer diary is available each month in several formats and platforms. This is to make it easily accessible and to be greener by cutting down on printing. Printed copies remain available in both vestibules of the church. Alternative ways to access the diary are on the church website Prayer Calendar – St Andrew Blackadder Church, on the PrayerMate app as well as on the church Facebook page.
7) Prayer Gathering Each Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm. Contact the office for log in details.
8) NB Gospel Choir Concert. The choir is hosting two concerts in the Sanctuary with all proceeds going to local charities. The concerts are on Friday 28th and Saturday the 9th of April starting at 7pm tickets are available on the door or in advance from Greens & Blues.
