- Church Weekend Away at Scoughall.
The programme for everyone begins on Sat 15 with lunch at 12.15 pm and on Sun 16 with breakfast at 9 am. Full details of the programme below. Church weekend programme
2) Sunday 16 May
The 9.30 am service will be in the church building and will also be live-streamed. I am taking it. The passage is Colossians 2:16-23 and the theme, Jesus+. The 10.30 am service, together with Junior Church and YF will be at Scoughall. You are welcome to come to this service even if you have not registered for the weekend.
3) Gift Day – June 23
When you are at Scoughall for the weekend listen for the hum of the generator in the background. Why won’t you hear it? Because when SU heard that the congregation had committed to give £5,000 for solar panels through this year’s Gift Day it decided to install them before this year’s summer programme began. So look out for the panels. Ask Richard to show you the battery. And then please consider what you might give towards Gift Day so that we are able to honour the promise we have made.
- General Election Hustings, Tuesday 18 June 7.30 pm, St Andrew Blackadder Church.
Seven candidates have confirmed. Sir David Tweedie will chair. Questions from local people have been gathered. Come and find out about the people who are asking you to vote for them and what they stand for.
4) Mrs Elsie Hagan
Elsie died in the Abbey Home on Monday 10 June, less than three weeks after her husband Ken died. Elise was a faithful follower of Jesus, a kind, caring woman who talked to everyone. Her funeral has not been arranged yet. Contact the church office for them next week.
5) Hot Water in Women’s Toilets
Currently there is no hot water. A replacement part has been ordered. It is likely to be two weeks until it is fitted. Please use the cold tap in the meantime.
6) Prayer Gathering
Every Monday in Room 1 between 10 and 11 am.
Every Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
