- Sunday 30 June
Services are at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (also live-streamed). Worship will be led by Revs Jock and Margaret Stein. Jock will speak about the message of Ezekiel to us today, where so many people are learning to live in a kind of ‘exile’. Ezekiel has been chosen also because Jock runs Handsel Press which has just published Today With Ezekiel by Clifford Hill in two volumes. These divide Ezekiel into readable daily sections and provide a two page commentary on each one. Each volume costs £10, but if you buy both, you’ll get them for £15. Jock will be bringing copies to sell and will accept both cash and online payments.
2) Welcome Evening: Wed 3 July 7 pm
Are you fairly new to St Andrew Blackadder? Are you wanting to find out more so you can find your place in the congregation and deepen your sense of belonging? Come along on Wednesday. It will be informal, fast-paced, interactive. You’ll meet others like you. It will be in Room 1 (next to the church office) and last less than 90 minutes.
3) Eric Liddell
Eric Liddell won a gold medal at the Olympics in Paris in 1924. His story was told in the film Chariots of Fire. 100 years later the Olympics are once again in Paris. Eric’s faith in Jesus was central. A little booklet Running the Race of Your Life has been published. Hugh Trevor has ordered some copies and is offering them to members of the congregation to share with friends, family and neighbours. If you would like some please speak to him at coffee after the service this Sunday day.
4) Faith Mission Convention. 30 June – 5 July
Described by one person as ‘Just like Keswick except it’s on your doorstep’. You can find details of the programme on the noticeboard outside the office or at https://faithmission.org/edinburgh/ If you’d like to know more Hugh Trevor is the best person to talk to.
