Weekly Update, 2nd May 2025

1. Sunday 4 May
Services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (also live-streamed). Rev Mary Haddow will be preaching and leading worship. The passage is Matthew 25:14-30 and the theme is Multi-talented

Messy Church is on from 4 – 6 pm. Why not come and join lots of others who find Messy Church helps them encounter Jesus and discover what it means to follow him.

2. Money, money, money
Last Sunday I spoke about how money is part of worship. What we do with our money demonstrates whether our claim to follow Jesus is real or just empty words. I wonder, what was your reaction? Did you resolve to start giving regularly? To review and update your standing order? Something else?
If so, have you followed through and turned that resolve into action?
If you haven’t, I wonder what’s holding you back and what would help you turn it into reality?
If talking to me or someone else might help, please do that.

3. Message from Gillian Couper
A huge thank you to everyone at St Andrew Blackadder for making me so welcome this past six months for my first placement as a candidate for ministry. I’ve enjoyed meeting many of you, getting involved in many different things and learning such a lot. I’m sure the memories, stories and experience will be put to good use in the years to come. Thank you also for your cards and the gorgeous picture of North Berwick, which will be a fond reminder of a brilliant time.

4. Christian Aid Week. 11-17 May
Support the important work Christian Aid do in a number of ways
– Hunger Lunch: 12 noon, Sunday 11 May
– Joint Service: Dirleton Kirk, Sunday 11 May, 6 pm
– Donate online at https://give.christianaid.org.uk/donate/A002958 or using a Christian Aid envelope which will be distributed on Sunday 11.
– Coffee Morning, Saturday 17 May, Church Hall, 10 am. Volunteers to help are needed, as is baking and contributions for the Gift and Plant stall. Contact Barbara C, Liz C or the Church Office to offer your help or for more information.

5. Prayer Gatherings
Every Sunday in Prayer Room between 10 and 10.20 am
Every Monday in Room 1 between 10 and 11 am.
Every Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
