1. Sunday 14 December
9.30 service follows the normal pattern. At it Neil will explore the next part of the Advent story in Luke. The passage is Luke 1:39-56 and the theme, Chosen to be a Somebody. This is the service which will be live-streamed.
Junior Church Nativity @ 10.30 when the children will tell the story of Christmas. A great service to invite family, friends and neighbours to.
Christmas Choir. Rehearsals continue at 11.50 am.
Hunger Lunch in the church hall from noon.
2. Christmas Cards for the Parish
Christmas is a wonderful opportunity to share the good news of Jesus with our community. The Church Christmas card is one way this is done. Please could you help with delivery. You will find envelopes beside coffee for each street. The number of doors is very manageable so it won’t take long you to do it. If you’ve never helped with this before, it’s very easy to do and the people at the table will talk you through it.
3. Christmas greeting for the congregation
The Guild has set up a Christmas card board just outside the hall. Simply write your card to all your friends in St Andrew Blackadder and pin your card (pins provided!) to the board. You can make a donation to the Barnabas Aid box instead of paying postage.
4. Saturday Dec 20 @ 2 pm, The Christmas Story on the High St
The Bible’s account of Christmas will be read from the steps of the church. Bible readings will be interspersed with carols. Please come and add your voice.
5. Carol Service: 21 Dec @ 7 pm: People who don’t regularly attend church find this service very accessible. It’s a wonderful opportunity to invite family, friends and neighbours. Please think and pray about who you could invite to come with you to it.
6. Cunningham House
Sunday 14 December is the final day for donating new men’s underwear for this homeless project in Edinburgh. You might be interested to know that Stop N Shop on the High Street have packs of thermal pants and vests at £4.99, stocked particularly because of the Cunningham House appeal.
