Wekkly Update, 29th May 2026

1. Sunday 31st May
Services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (live-streamed). The passage is Acts 2:36-47 and the theme, What makes the church grow?
Following the 10.30am service there will be a short break before a presentation in the sanctuary, starting at 11.45am, to thank Neil and Helen and to celebrate their 23 years at St Andrew Blackadder Church, to which everyone is warmly invited. The service will be live streamed. Tea, coffee and cake will be served in the hall following the presentation.

2.Pastoral Cover during June.
Neil will continue to provide pastoral cover until June 12.
Rev Geoff Berry, locum minister at Abbey Church, has kindly agreed to cover until the end of the month.
On July 1 Rev Mary Haddow starts as locum at St Andrew Blackadder

3. Worship on Sunday June 7
There will only be one service in the church building. It will be at 9.30 am. The 10.30 service will be at Scoughall as part of the church weekend. All children’s and youth activities will be held at Scoughall.

4. Church Weekend Away Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th June 2026 at Scoughill SU camp just outside North Berwick- – Volunteers are still needed to help the kitchen team for the weekend. Can you provide baking or help with washing up? If you can help then please add your name to the sign-up sheets outside the Church Office.

5. King of Kings Film Afternoon, Today, Friday 29th May. Following the success of previous community film events, Abbey Church invites you all to a screening of The King of Kings. Doors open ahead of the film starting at 2.30pm at Abbey Church, North Berwick High St. Entry is free and all ages are welcome. Donations received will go towards James McPherson’s Glioblastoma Fundraising Appeal.

6. Rugged Pathway Pilgrimage is taking place on Saturday 30th May. Walking 14 miles from St Mary’s Church, Haddington to St Mary’s, Whitekirk, with stops on the way for quiet reflection. There will also be also refreshment stops at Athelstaneford and Prestonkirk in East Linton. The walk will commence from St Mary’s Haddington after a short service at 9.30 am.
Those wishing to join in should be prepared for some gentle inclines along the way, and, as always, should dress for all Scottish weathers. Please provide your own transport and a packed lunch. (Some transport may be possible for those not able to do the whole walk)

7. Gather Worship, the last one before the summer is on 5th June, 7-8.30pm at the High School, led by Neil and Jo Thompson of NB Christian Fellowship. All welcome!

8. Prayer Gatherings
Every Sunday in Prayer Room between 10 and 10.20 am
Every Monday in Room 1 between 10 and 11 am.
Every Wednesday on Zoom between for 30 minutes starting at 7 pm.
