1. Sunday 16th August. Services at 9.30 am and 10.30 am (live-streamed). This week’s services will be led by Rev Mary Haddow. The passage is Mark 5:21-34 and the theme is Encounters with Jesus- From doing or listening, to doing and listening
2. Gift Day. Thank you so much to everyone who has given money to support Gift Day 2026 so far. We are accepting donations until the end of August so if you have not yet donated and would like to do so, there is still time – Thank you for your support.
3. Ministries Fair. Following the success of our Ministries Fair last year, we are delighted to be holding this as an annual event. This year’s Ministries Fair will take place on Sunday 30th August in the Sanctuary, after the 10.30am service. Tea and coffee will be served in the Sanctuary after the service.
The Ministries Fair is a great opportunity to find out more about what has been happening in the various groups over the past year, discover what goes on in groups you may not know much about, and, importantly, consider where you might like to become more involved in the life of our church.
Being part of a group, or regularly praying for one, is a great way to get to know more people, use your gifts and become more involved in our church family.
If you feel God may be calling you to serve in one of our groups, Youth Groups and Messy Church are particularly looking for more volunteers.
Do come along on 30th August, visit the various ministry stalls and find out more about all that is happening in our church. We look forward to seeing you there!
4. David Kellock A service will be held at Seafield Crematorium on Tuesday 18th August at 10.00am, followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at St Andrew Blackadder Church at 12.30pm, to which all family and friends are warmly invited to both. Family flowers only, please.
5. Ian Gordon, A service of Thanksgiving will be held here at St Andrew Blackadder Church on Monday 31st August at 12.30pm to which you are all warmly invited.
6. Save the date. The organisation 24/7 Prayer is encouraging churches to engage in the international week of prayer, running from 6th-14th September. Together with Christians from around world, we are aiming to have a relay of people praying in 1 hour time slots across the week. Would you be willing to commit to filling at least 1 hour across the week, and be part of this exciting opportunity to connect with God?
Plans are underway to have a physical prayer space using room 1, but people can pray anywhere if that is easier for them.
