Prayer Diary, November 2025

1          Give thanks for the work of Leuchie House and pray for all the workers and helpers who will be involved in the fundraising concert today.

 

2          Give thanks for Alison and her team who organise and run Messy Church. Remember too all the families who enjoy coming along each month.

 

3          Give thanks for the life of Ming Campbell and pray that nations will elect more leaders who are like him – honest, faithful and a real gentleman.

 

4          Remember those who are waiting to have a major operation for their life threatening condition.

 

5          Pray that those who are responsible for setting off fireworks will do so in a safe and sensitive way.

Remember to pray for those who are frightened and worried by all the noise.

 

6          Pray that the Beacon will continue to fulfil the purpose for which it was originally set up.

 

7          Continue to remember Hamish, Annika, their family and Wycliffe work in Sweden.

 

8          Pray for someone you know who has recently received an indication that they are suffering from the onset of dementia and are worried about what the future will hold.

 

9          Pray for all who will attend worship today as we host the town service. Remember too the congregation in the North Berwick Christian Fellowship.

 

10        Pray for Neil and the other members of the Kirk Session as they meet tomorrow to discuss important aspects of church business.

 

11        Pray for Douglas Nicol as he comes to the Guild to speak about the Seaside Mission.

 

12        Give thanks for all the new comers to our town and who are beginning to worship with us but pray too that more of the local population will be attracted to our fellowship.

 

13        Pray for Andrew, the events he arranges and in general all the activities which encourages young people in our church and town.

 

14        Pray for people who are worried about friends and relatives who are living in one of the   battlefields around the world, particularly Ukraine, Russia, Gaza, Israel and Afghanistan.

 

15        If you have more money than you actually need ask God to guide you to a family who cannot afford to go on holiday and have barely enough money to cover their expenses.

 

16        Remember Ujwal in Nandok and pray for those in the seven churches that have developed around his own church.

 

17        Pray for someone you know who is living with a medical condition known only to him or herself and a small number of caring professionals.

 

18        Pray for the congregation in Fogo Church in Berwickshire which on Thursday will link with Berwick and Ayton.

 

19        Remember those who have significant sight, hearing and memory loss and are having to adapt to life in a vastly changed environment.

 

20        Think of all the new people who have joined our fellowship recently and pray that they can be helped to get involved in some meaningful activities within the church.

 

21        Remember families who are living under great stress with personal problems or financial difficulties.

 

22        Pray about a wrong decision you made recently. Ask God to forgive and seek his help to make the situation better.

 

23        Pray for the congregations in Abbey and Dirleton as they plan for the future after David’s departure. Remember Jock Stein as Interim Moderator.

 

24        Pray for those who live in the east of North Berwick, the part of the town covered by our church.

 

25        Pray for someone in the fellowship who is causing you concern or unhappiness.

 

26        Pray that you do not get too frustrated when you suddenly discover that you cannot get access to a site that you use regularly. Pray about it or try to locate someone who will be able to help.

 

27        Pray for Neil as he leads the Communion Service at the Beacon lunchtime today.

 

28        Give thanks for those you meet who are happy, positive and encouraging and pray for others you meet who are the opposite.

 

29        Pray for Messy Church tomorrow afternoon and communion during the services.

 

30        The last Sunday in October is David Graham’s final Sunday as minister of Abbey and Dirleton. Give God thanks for all the time and effort he has spent as their pastor. Pray for him as he begins a well-earned period of rest and meditation and considers what the future may hold. Well done, David!
